Sims 2 Cheats and sims 2 objects

Jan-15th-2009

With a strategy game like the Sims 2, using cheats doesn’t take the fun out of playing the game as it might with say a point and click game for example. If you use a Sims 2 code to make the game easier, you can simply complicate things all over again by introducing a new family member or getting a new job.

Whilst developing this game, Maxis have left their fans a horde of cheats and codes to get stuck into. While some imitate the ‘rosebud’ cheat used in the Sims 1 to get extra cash (typing ‘kaching’ or ‘motherlode’ into the cheat bar will get you $1000 or $50,000 respectively), others can be used for things like finding out a Sim’s gender preference (see boolprop cheat below) or for moving and deleting objects that otherwise won’t budge by typing ‘move_objects on’ (type ‘move_objects off’ to remove).

Perhaps the most useful and fun of all the Sims 2 cheats can be found under the umbrella of ‘boolprop testingcheatsenabled true’. While some of the commands in the boolprop menus are confusing and unnecessary, you can find some gems such as ‘Restock’ when you shift + click on the fridge so that you don’t need to wait for a delivery, or clicking ‘MAKE SELECTABLE’ twice when you shift + click on a baby so that you can see their needs bars and prompt them to grow up.

For those of you who love to play around with genetics, try typing ‘faceBlendLimits off’ into the Sims 2 code bar. When your Sims have a child the game will no longer set boundaries for the features that the child will inherit. This makes for some funny-looking Sims!

There are so many Sims 2 cheats out there and each one can change the course of a game considerably and often with amusing results. Who knows what cheats there’ll be for the Sims 3?
