With less than seven days left until the official release of the Sims 3, you’re probably champing at the bit in anticipation. A lot of us will remember the excitement we felt whilst ripping of the cellophane of the Sims 2 package, but the latest version has so much more to promise that it’s hard to keep composure. If you’re not quite familiar with what to expect from EA Games’ latest addition to the family then read on…
The main draw to the Sims 3 is the fact that the neighbourhood is boundless. Remember in the Sims 2 when you’d have to ‘leave lot’ to visit the shops or go to the park? Now you simply walk down the street in real time, with no loading screens. Another new feature is the addition of Sim personalities. Of course, before, we could choose how neat, how nice, how active, how outgoing and how playful our Sims were, but now you can give them specific character traits that will change the way they react to almost everything. Paranoid, excitable, shy etc.
This time around EA have really thought of it all and have given us an insight into the game even before it is released. Visit the official Sims 3 website to try out their three interactive ‘Sim Teasers’. First of all is the Sim Sidekick; a character who will follow you as you surf the web and tell you what they think of each site, using their unique personality traits. Secondly is the Sim Friend, who requires you to show your Sims playing skills to help them out of a tricky spot. Lastly, and probably most excitingly, is Sim Social, which is basically a mini version of the game where you can create a character, meet other Sims, get a career and achieve aspirations.
With such little time to go before the big day we recommend you bide your time by playing with the Sim Teasers and getting used to what’s coming up. Enjoy!
