Well ladies and gentlemen, it looks like our predictions were correct – the staff at EA have followed their previous cheat commands for the Sims 1 and 2, to give us the classic ‘Kaching’ and ‘Motherlode’ sims 3 money cheats.
>To use these cheats it’s quite simple, just load up the game so you’re in playing mode and press ctrl + shift + c on your keyboard. This will bring up a text bar where you type either ‘kaching‘ to get 1000 Simoleons, ‘motherlode‘ for 50,000 Simoleons or ‘familyfunds + your sim family’s name + however many simoleons you want‘ for a custom choice of money.
As most of you will know, gameplay is quite different in the Sims 3 and there are a lot of new features, so naturally Sims 3 cheats for gameplay are a little different to ones from previous games. For example, the ‘move_objects on’ cheat from the Sims 2 is now ‘moveObjects + on/off‘ it’s a subtle difference but one you’ll need to get used to in order for it to work. Another Sims 3 cheat you might be familiar with is ‘testingCheatsEnabled + true/false‘, which brings about the debugged state of play (are you seeing a pattern emerging with the ‘+’ sign yet?).
Now for the brand new Sims 3 cheats; the ones we’re most excited about. To start, you might already know that the Sims 3 can be played without area constraints. That is, you can roam about your neighbourhood without exiting a lot and loading up another, but rather simply walk out of the house and down the street in real time. Of course this means you can end up on the other side of the neighbourhood, fed up that you have to spend ages walking all the way home for a shower. As a result EA have developed the ‘resetSim + you sim’s first name + your sim’s last name‘, which brings your Sim back to their home lot and puts their bars to neutral.
Another very useful one is ‘unlockOutfits + on/off‘. This particular Sims 3 Cheat lets you see all Sim’s career and service uniforms as well as normal Sim clothes, but be sure to enter it before you go into the ‘Create a Sim mode’ or it’s useless. Other cheats include ‘jokePlease‘ for a random joke to appear in the cheat bar, ‘slowMotionViz‘ for the game visuals to run in slow motion (note that the play timer is still running as normal, so days do not go any slower) and ‘constrainFloorElevation + true/false‘ where setting it to false allows you to alter the terrain level, regardless of what objects or Sims are in the way.
We’ve no doubt that EA will release more Sims 3 money cheats and various other modes of gameplay in the future – perhaps some hidden cheats will be discovered by players over the next few weeks too. We will be searching for more cheats and hidden pathways to bring you, so that your quality of play for the Sims 3 is even greater and the possibilities wider.
